Four teams have been chosen to compete in the Highway Apprentice competition; each with their own unique theme, there is a singing competition, a high tea party and a 30th birthday party.
Our theme is “let’s try and get Ellen DeGeneres to come to Adelaide” and our party was held on Friday the 30th of July 2010.
If you came to our event you can help us out by supporting our sponsors and letting them know how much you enjoyed our event!
The “Ellen2Adelaide” project is about promoting Adelaide to Ellen DeGeneres but there is a lot more to it than that.
It’s about promoting Adelaide to the rest of the world, more specifically uniting the Film, Comedy, Music and Dance communities in Adelaide.
It may happen in a few weeks or it may happen in a few years but either way, it will open the flood gates and serve as the tipping point for other stars, celebrities and influential people of the world to take notice of us.
Our goal is to produce a DVD showcasing some of Adelaide’s best talent and sending it to Ellen DeGeneres at Warner Brothers’ Studios in Los Angeles along with a number of other items that are representative of Adelaide and our desire for her to visit us here in Adelaide.
The winners of the Highway Apprentice will get $5,000, a trip for two to Los Angeles and a contract with the Highway to organise four more similar functions valued at $30,000, if our team “Star On Tour Promotions” wins, we hope to take our campaign to Ellen DeGeneres personally and make an appearance on her show “the Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
